Cardiology

The Cardiology & Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (CTVS) department at Neelam Super Specialty Hospital is overseen by best Cardiologists in Tricity, and features an advanced Cath lab equipped with the latest techniques and state-of-the-art equipment. Interventional cardiology, a non-surgical field, employs a catheter—a small, flexible tube—to address issues such as repairing damaged or weakened vessels, narrowing arteries, or other affected components of the heart structure.

Coronary Angiography

A diagnostic procedure utilizing contrast dye and X-rays to observe blood flow in coronary arteries, facilitating the identification of blockages or irregularities for heart condition diagnosis and treatment planning.During the procedure, a catheter is inserted into the arteries, and contrast dye is injected to enhance X-ray visualization of blood flow. This allows cardiologists to pinpoint areas of narrowing, blockages, or other irregularities that may impede proper blood circulation to the heart muscle.

By accurately assessing the extent and severity of coronary artery disease, coronary angiography guides treatment decisions, such as medication management, angioplasty, or bypass surgery, to restore optimal cardiac function and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.

Coronary Angioplasty

A therapeutic intervention within interventional cardiology, involving the inflation of a balloon-tipped catheter in narrowed or blocked coronary arteries to enhance blood flow, often followed by stent placement for sustained efficacy is carried out.

Coronary Angiplasty provides an immediate and effective solution for restoring blood flow to the heart muscle, alleviating symptoms such as chest pain (angina) and shortness of breath. Since it is minimally invasive compared to traditional open-heart surgery, it results in shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery times and reduces overall healthcare costs.

This procedure has a high success rate, offering long-term relief from symptoms and improving quality of life for patients. With advancements in technology and techniques, including the use of drug-eluting stents, coronary angioplasty continues to evolve as a safe and efficient treatment option for coronary artery disease.

Pacemaker & Device Management

Specialized care for patients requiring pacemakers or other cardiac devices, encompassing implantation, programming, and ongoing oversight to ensure optimal device function and patient well-being.

Non-Invasive Cardiology

  • 2D Echo Doppler A non-invasive imaging technique utilizing ultrasound to create detailed images of the heart’s structure and function, including blood flow patterns, facilitating precise diagnosis and treatment planning
  • TMT (Treadmill Test) A stress test assessing heart function during physical activity, monitoring electrocardiogram changes to diagnose conditions like coronary artery disease and evaluate exercise tolerance
  • ECG (Electrocardiogram) A standard diagnostic tool recording the heart’s electrical activity, aiding in the identification of irregularities and conduction issues, and signs of cardiac conditions to inform treatment decisions
  • CCU Care Specialized care within the Coronary Care Unit, offering intensive monitoring and treatment for patients with acute cardiac conditions, ensuring timely interventions and optimal management
  • 24-hrs Holter Monitoring Continuous ECG monitoring over 24 hours using a portable device, recording heart activity during daily activities, useful for detecting intermittent arrhythmias and assessing overall heart health Matters of heart involve proper supervision and intervention and we have the best heart doctors in Punjab.
